So, I am reading this and that across the net and came up with an interesting tidbit.  It was about link mining benefiting a major retailer.   I’m not that savvy about all that stuff.  I do have a Google value of 2/10 which is about par for the average.  Pauly has a 5/10 which figures.

Along the way, I found the site that they used to find all those black links and thought I’d see mine.  I know a number of friends have provided links.  Those were what I expected.  Didn’t quite work out that way.  They only let you see the first 200 for free so the sample isn’t complete.  But it was weird.

I basically saw a bunch of links from Otis, Amy, Linda and from here — although, I thought I didn’t link to myself that often.  There are a bunch of [nofollow] ones that were in the 200 — a bunch because they are comments and I do that a lot.  But, that was all I saw and that was a bit of a shock.  Otis had a ton and I know he’s been kind with his links but it seemed overboard and they really date back.

I’m not sure what I saw.  But, it was what I was expecting.  Take a look at your own and/or mine and maybe you’ll have a better idea.  I really don’t have a clue as to why I saw so few (but multiple) linkers.

I know the links we put up to places we like in our blog are discounted heavily.  But, I know I’ve gotten other links from a number of places that I thought I’d be seeing.   If you can make sense of all this, clue me in.
