Health Care

I've had it and haven't had it – insurance wise. What I did have was referred to as “Major Medical” – which is out of favor. The three times I needed it, it came with a thousand deductible that smarted. There was no Health Savings Account involved. I paid off those bills with after tax dollars.

A great explanation of what all this is about and how it relates to the new/social medical plans of the day are presented in a blog by a person educated in the nuances. I really suggest the read.

At this point, I'm well aware that life isn't going to provide me with everything. But, I've been luckier than most. Health care is like that. We all want everything but there is also the affordability factor. It'd be nice to be able to say screw that; but, that isn't the way the world works. When that's the case, change things at your peril.
