Wadja Think?

So, it is early morning and I feel like some poker but hardly awake. So there is this $2.20 that is just a minute old. It was a cashout which I hadn't really paid attention to.

A weird/lucky happened early. Not sure why I'm showing it other than to show I can be moderately lucky too. The 'move' was against rather short stacks held by very active players. That's my only excuse.

That got me back to even. Donkey see; donkey do. River savior.  (Something weird about the split.  I got money back and on pure luck. Honest.)

I played better for quite a while and stayed close to the money which paid 72. Slipped a bit and then got this for help.

On the flop I made a blocking bet and was called in two places. The turn gave me the idiot end of the straight and a nice flush draw which hit. The spades were all in on the turn. Nice. The turn also gave the other guy 2-pair and he wasn't the type to let go of those. Then they river let me get the last of his chips in. Runer-runner; kiss your feller. The luck was holding

The key hand I didn't capture. I had a respectable stack of around 24K and got AK early and popped it 4x. Got two caller and then the small blind – having me covered – pushed all-in. He hadn't been at the table long but showed aggression. I can lay down AKo in an early position. Or at least I like to think so. But my radar said squeeze play and I called. He showed AQ and lost.

Anywho, that gave me #2 chip stack. We were about 2:20 in with 171 left. I thought of the cashout and wondered what it'd bring. Answer: $16. I looked at the payouts and I'd need to finish ahead of 9th to make as much. I waited a circuit where the betting was getting desperate and cashed out.

Question: Total Woose?

It is woosie but I thought there was at least another hour of play and like either of the hands I showed you, things can go either way. I'd been lucky and that's unusual. So, maybe I did wimp out. But it doesn't seem that sissyfied.  I showed a couple of hands to you that could have gone either way.  So, maybe because of the bad run, I gathered my tents.

Not sure what happened. Were you playing in a tournament? How do you cash out? If you made a nice return on your investment, not woosie at all, imo.

Sorry I wasn’t clear. Yes, it was a tournament. I play slightly lower when I play ring. :)

FT has cashout tournaments. Each buyin is represent by your starting chip stack. So, if you double up you can cash for twice your buyin. I had 8 times the starting stack which in that tournament was 3000 chips.

I sort of ignored what they were. It puts a different light on things and seems a nice way to have more options.
