Reality
It gets stretched all the time. Blogdom doesn't go against that grain. The popular topic is T and M being the T and A for The Great American Race. It is in that area called Reality TV. I think it is always closer to Vicarious TV. That can even translate into blogdom at times.
If you think I have an opinion on the show, you are wrong. It is one of those shows people seem to love or hate. For me, it is more ignore. I did watch about 5-minutes with the intros. And I watch a blip that Pokerati or someone point toward. What little I saw seem incapable of removing my lack of interest in such shows.
I know almost nothing about Maria Ho. Tiffany has never been my cuppa. She was the PokerNews interviewer. The consistent shtick she used was to drape herself all over the guys. I don't know about you but strangers who drape themselves all over one isn't going to gain my confidence. My Midwestern being is near the antithesis of the Hollywood types, Dahlings.
Honesty forces me to add she was a major contributor to my retiring from paid blogging. I was playing almost exclusively with the site she hooked up with. That didn't set well with TonyG. I was struggling for topic anyway and now I lost talking about where I was playing. It was less a reason than the final straw though. Here I can write stuff I couldn't justify there.
Back to the reality bit. It just doesn't click for me. I just can't choose up sides with a bunch of strangers. And there's no way I can manufacture a closeness to that. It isn't any “I'm better” approach. I can watch the crap on TRU TV. Cops and all that keep me vegging for the half hour. TRU's motto is Not Reality – Actuality. BS, but most of it is at least a last resort when I'm in channel surfing mode.
I guess I don't mind races but I'd rather do it with a better hand than TV provides.

T and M are a waste of space and do the poker community a disservice as representatives in a global reality show. Sigh*

Yes, that’s the power of a blog. Just keep on doin’ your thing, and I’ll keep on reading.
I can’t find the “reality” at all, as my mind constantly reverts back to producers and directors deciding what will sell. Then there’s the lack of live. I mean last time I checked, reality was happening live no?
Age be damned! Johnny Carson and the like, are WAY closer to reality TV.
Oh ya that and… GET OFF MY LAWN!
Lol . . . you do sound a little curmudgeonly . . .
I like reality TV. Reminds me that I’m glad my life isn’t TV worthy.
