Poker Perambulation

I thought I’d throw out a mid-month update.  It has been one of my better ones.  It is happening at Ultimate Bet.  Soft, predictable players for the most part.  But, not such LAGs as to make it more difficult.

I hadn’t been playing at UB for a while and deposited $50 to see if it had improved.  Software wise it is still the same old same old.  Tomorrow’s the day that the timeout problem will be stopped.  I’ll have more memory and a different ISP  – Verizon DSL.

I did win a little HORSE tournament during the month and that added $80 to the stack.  But, it would have been a nice month without it.  Looking at my stats the other day wasn’t as glowing.  I had a mediocre BB/100 and wins were barely above break even.  Five winning session have changed that nicely. Well, semi-nicely anyway.

My stats show I have won $23.99 while paying a rake of $25.20. The goody part is due to bonus clearing.

On top of that I sold points for $25. So I am ahead $75 just for my play. The win amount is from PokerTracker Stud. And, it either lost hands or can’t add. This data was in a new database with only this month’s play.

The actual bankroll reported by UB is $217.73. Obviously, I am happy with that. More-so, because I’ve played almost entirely at .25-.50.

I’ve managed to upgrade my status to their 3^rd level which they call Contender. I would need to play higher to assure moving above that but it is a level one can hit easily play the lower level. I’d played higher when I had deposited more back before they honked me over the lose of all-in protection which caused me to walk.

Problem is that their site is easy to deposit on using a credit card. And, they keep making bonus available. If you look at what I’ve drug from that against the rake, they are losing money on me. How many sites can one say that about?

I am playing tighter than I was. My VP$IP is currently around 27%. At these kinds of tables I am usually trying to play the more speculative hands. I’ll try to play things like 9JQ two-suited. With tons of limpers the norm, I see nice pot odds. Other days I have to play tighter. It all depends on the type of table. Hopefully, that all throws in a session or two where I get gifted by the deck. But, average cards can reward me because of the poor play. Only one spurt of a number of losing sessions.

I have noticed that I’ve finally gotten comfortable playing shorter tables. I found that a hard adjustment at stud for some reason. These days I don’t mind starting a new table.

So, that’s the update. Join me at the stud and occasional HORSE table. I’m RJSQUIRREL there. UB has a buddy list built in so you can see if I’m (or another fish) showing as active. It is easy to maintain and add to. Nice plus.

 

I do have rakeback enabled with the account but because of the bonus clearing it just doesn’t kick in. I worked hard to cancel the old account to get it and it ended up being worthless. Right now I’m looking to deposit more when they offer reload bonus again. Although the bonus available is over $800 which should keep me clearing bonus for a good while. I guess you can never have too much in the slush fund.

I’ll note that there is a lot more Stud8 tables available than plain Stud. If that’s your cuppa, you should like the site. What little I seen there is even juicier than high only.
