Abortions and Inside Straights
The major topics have been “news items” – for better or worse. You won’t seem to group them mentally. Yet they do relate. It something some out there will support only on one side. I can’t do that.
Well, Fox, D’Amato, cogent are another weird combo. But look:
Why do I want to lump things together? Personally, I am conflicted before all this. I do believe that abortions as a group are a questionable practice. It is said that 46-million have been preformed and that saddens me. I also have a cousin that is Down syndrome and you won’t me a more loving individual. So, I a wishy-washy answer should you ask. I am pro-humanity and humanity comes with warts and wonders.
This should be brought home in the mind of my fellow poker players. That is because it is the same rational that tried to grab away my right to wager on a hand that limits a women’s choice. Choice is under attack. And that attack is often neither red or blue.
Yes, they are both news items. We normally don’t have the draw to make it on the 10 o’clock. Abortion makes it regularly. Reports report their sound bites with limited expertise beyond the facts. If that isn’t true, then it should be moved to an identified editorial comment. The media often isn’t doing that. Fox is as egregious about that as the others.
So, when you see an issue that addresses one’s right, it is pretty simple. If you want your’s honored then honor the other guys. You may both think the other wrong but we have a right to be wrong too.
The joy of parenting go beyond the temporary enjoyments. Otis will tell you it is a trail that constantly amazes him. That is a lucky child. Others don’t have that advantage but advantage is given to few. Life is opportunity. Poker is opportunity. Making good decisions is a duty. That is true pre-flop and in living. We are all going to be wrong about that at times. We live with our choices and should let the other person do the same.

Adding my old stuff from the old site has started. I’m trying to back date them so they don’t hit RSS. I missed on two of them already. If something looks familiar down the road, I apologize. Getting them up is not easy. Sadly, I was too prolific and the file sizes are too big for the attempts at automated import.
