This play went Jordan to Riggstad to Loretta8 with a umpire’s call by AlCantHang. It seems the graft and corruption Tilt offered bloggers is out for reasons that will become obvious if you read all of it or at least Loretta’s explanation.
The Cliff Notes version is people are keeping the cash and not playing. Loretta explains how hard it is to play and the added cost not being covered. Not everyone can get off work and buy a week package to play it out – even with the 10K. I think a reasonable solution would be their playing in a lesser event allowing a shorter stay with some profit involved.
The other part of that is Tilt proceeding to give them the money and then ignore them completely. They didn’t even ship them some cheezy stick-ons promoting the .NET site. Most site have a gathering for the players and they can visit the suite or party as special guest. Hell, UB is giving VIP party access just by stopping at the house phone at the Bellagio with someone showing up with a goody bag.
That really just the tip of the old UIGEA iceberg. The fact is Stars and Tilt were given a free lunch when Party had to withdraw. Did they offer greater or more frequent bonus offers. Au contraire! They got cheaper and cheaper. They have a captive audience and they milk it to the max.
If you want to talk about their ‘great’ step tournament and things like T-dollars, I can sum it up for you in two words: MORE RAKE. All these promo amount to is added revenue for the site. Nothing extra is given back to the players.
So, if you get ahead of them somehow or someway, here’s my advice.

I mentioned bonus. The hardest bonus I ever tried to clear is the one a FullTilt and it expires fairly quick. I think many would have to play a level or two above their normal play to assure getting all of it. The bonus at Stars are as frequent as an old maid’s dates.
Ultimate Bet does a good job of adding value. But, lets face it, they don’t have a choice. UB bonus offering are generous and frequent.
Doc mentioned liking HORSE and only playing on FT. It is a more black and white world after the UIGEA but there are still difference. UB has 12 minute blinds. Most others run 10. That may seem like a small difference. But, when you’ve played both, you’ll see a good half hour before you feel like a push monkey. Limit gets just as nasty as no limit. In my case, I feel compelled to build/maintain my stack at the start of the 2nd hour on the lesser structures. Yesterday, it was over an hour and a half before that trouble. (That was my low point with under 400 in chips.)
BTW, even if you don’t click here. UB’s bonus offering are such that you’ll never see rakeback because you are getting more and not sharing. If you are smart and if you click on a affiliate deal like this (never that smart), the affiliate will never see a dime if you work bonus right.
