Who ya gonna call?
Well, it may not be Ghost Busters? But, I’ll lay odds it is only the cable company under duress. And the anticipation involved isn’t positive. Well, I had a great, positive experience last Friday when I called them.
It was positive because I was quitting. They offered to lower my bill. They offered a free set top box so I could watch the local channel they’d moved out of the normal range. (That channel they left blank.) Yup, I got some really great offers from those wonderful cable folks. They were going to let me watch again what I paid for. My guess here being that the grease was only available for the squeaky wheels.
Every day, I’d see great ads offering more than I had for less money than they’d been collecting from me for years. So, the attraction of a lowered cost for X number of months didn’t ring my chimes. Although, if you are a customer of theirs, they even have a person waiting to give you those deals. Just ask for the retention desk.
ADDENDUM:
Believe it or not (knock on wood, tin, Plexiglas, etc.), I’m profitable on Ultimate Bet. That’s without counting bonus bucks. Those added another $15 playing cheap .25-.50 Stud. Takes about 200 hands at that level to get another 5-spot. I even thought I had enough (I didn’t) to play a bit of .50-1. That clears bonus faster.
I only put $50 on the site. Wasn’t sure if I wanted to play there and still not positive. I did discuss whine about all-in protection. Wasn’t exactly that but it applied. You timeout and they dump you from the table. Thing is the stud games usually have a waiting list; so, you can’t just hop back on. That seriously impact hands/hr.
The exchange with their support was mind boggling. They were actually trying to answer the question I was asking. So, many provide a canned answer that isn’t what you were asking. They even escalated it to a real technician. I might post them. The responses were such that it might help others.
Looking forward with fear and hope to the move to a new blog provider. Another place with good support. I figure the one’s GoDaddy showed me were Comcast rejects. I actually tried to get their hosting and they never met me on the same page.
So, if you see a weird setup in a day or two, it happened and I’m working out the kinks. And, if you don’t see me via RSS, you need to drop by and update that.
